Can You Get Lash Extensions While Pregnant? Here’s What You Need to Know

Pregnancy comes with so many changes — and while you're glowing from within, there's no reason you can't keep glowing on the outside, too. One question we often get in the salon is:“Is it safe to get lash extensions while I’m pregnant?” The short answer? Usually, yes! But there are a few important things to consider first.

Are Lash Extensions Safe During Pregnancy?

There’s no medical reason why you can’t get lash extensions while pregnant. The lash adhesive doesn’t come into direct contact with your skin or bloodstream, and we use high-quality, low-fume glue to keep your experience as safe and comfortable as possible.

However, it’s always best to check with your doctor before booking in — especially if you have a high-risk pregnancy, allergies, or heightened sensitivities.

What Might Be Different When You’re Pregnant?

💤 Longer Appointments Can Be Uncomfortable. Pregnant clients often find it harder to lie flat for extended periods. We do our best to make you super comfy with pillows and breaks if needed, but your body may just say, “No thanks” to a two-hour nap on a lash bed!

💨 Increased Sensitivity. During pregnancy, your hormones are in overdrive — which can make you more sensitive to smells, products, and even the lash adhesive. While reactions are rare, we recommend a patch test before your appointment, even if you’ve had extensions before.

💁‍♀️ Retention May Vary. Hormonal changes can affect your lash cycle. You may find your natural lashes shedding faster or holding onto extensions differently than usual. This is totally normal and varies from person to person.

Tips for a Safe and Comfortable Lash Appointment

  • Let your lash artist know you’re expecting

  • Ask for extra pillows or breaks during your appointment

  • Do a patch test beforehand if you're unsure about sensitivity

  • Book shorter sets (like a light classic or half set) if lying down is a concern

  • Avoid lash lifts during the first trimester, as some doctors advise caution with chemical treatments early on

The Bottom Line

Yes, you can get lash extensions while pregnant — with a few tweaks to make sure you're comfortable, safe, and feeling fabulous. Whether you're in your first trimester or getting ready for baby photos, we’re here to give you those soft, angelic lashes with all the extra care you deserve.
